Practice Your Way to Perfect coloring books,  includes five designs to color and five pages of each design. Having numerous pages of the same design gives the colorist lots of chances to color their way along until they get it just right, to perfect! The fifth page of each design embedded inside of a decorated picture frame gives the colorist a framable page. Also included in the book are blank Draw Your Own Pages with art from the coloring book so that the colorist can also draw the illustration item from the coloring pages in the book. Some of the Practice Your Way to Perfect coloring books include bonus pages with the cover art.

Watercolour by Charu Jain of Virginia Wright’s Monarch Butterfly on Joe-Pye Weed Photograph.

A week or so ago, I posted a Monarch butterfly photograph that I took in my bee and butterfly garden. Many of you know that one of my favorite things to do besides writing is photographing nature and foodstuff.  Well, on Facebook,  I posted this beautiful Monarch butterfly feasting on Joe-Pye Weed (below), and Charu Jain of Watercolour by Charu,  from Bangalore, India, messaged me that she would like to paint my photograph. I told her I didn’t mind, but if she used it anywhere, that I would like to be given credit for my photograph. :-) Charu agreed, and quickly got to work and created a beautiful watercolor of my butterfly. We both captured a moment in time from that one photograph. As my photograph inspired Charu to do her watercolor, my photographs inspire me in my illustrations, too. As a matter of fact, I illustrated two butterfly coloring books (go figure). Practice Your Way to Perfect: Butterflies Coloring Book and Practice Your Way to Perfect: Butterflies Coloring Book 2. I’ve always loved watching butterflies flitting here and there with their beautiful colors, it seemed fitting for me to illustrate a coloring book with butterflies. :-) You can find more of my nature photography on Instagram.  Charu is the illustrator of Ten Zany Birds by Sherry Ellis. You can learn more about Charu here.
